ELEGOO Launches M1 Ultra, Its First 3D Scanner, From $1,599 Early-Bird

The Chinese 3D printing brand's all-in-one blue-laser scanner claims 0.02 mm accuracy, five scanning modes and a handheld, battery-powered body.

A handheld blue-laser 3D scanner projects a fan of light onto a small object while a translucent point-cloud model forms around it in a studio setting.

ELEGOO has launched the M1 Ultra, its first all-in-one smart 3D scanner, taking the Chinese 3D printing brand beyond printers and into capture hardware. The device went on sale on October 29, 2026, at a retail price of USD 1,699, with early-bird pricing of USD 1,599 available through November 12.

ELEGOO positions the scanner for work where dimensional accuracy matters. It quotes blue laser scanning accuracy of up to 0.02 mm and volumetric accuracy of 0.02 mm + 0.06 mm/m, a level of precision the company describes as metrology-grade. To hold performance steady, the M1 Ultra uses an all-glass optical system, intelligent temperature compensation and high-precision camera calibration, while global-shutter cameras are intended to reduce motion blur and distortion during capture.

Five scanning modes

The scanner carries five modes aimed at different objects and jobs:

  • 34-line blue laser for medium-to-large objects;
  • 7-line blue laser for fine detail on small-to-medium parts;
  • Single-line blue laser for deep holes, narrow gaps and other hard-to-reach areas;
  • Infrared structured light for face, body and object scanning;
  • Marker-free blue laser for surfaces where applying markers is impractical.

Supported object sizes run from 5 × 5 × 5 mm³ up to 4,000 × 4,000 × 4,000 mm³. ELEGOO says the scanner can also capture black and metallic surfaces without coating powder, which it presents as added flexibility across materials and environments. Colour is recorded alongside geometry through 24-bit full-colour texture mapping with image signal processing optimisation. The company lists customization, reverse engineering, education, digital archiving and other creative projects among the intended applications.

Portable body and software workflow

For use away from a desk, the M1 Ultra has a 3-inch HD touchscreen for on-device operation, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and a 4,800 mAh swappable battery rated for up to 1.5 hours of wireless scanning. ELEGOO describes the handheld body as lightweight and ergonomic, and frames these features around moving between workspaces — capturing components for a design project, documenting physical objects, or gathering data for later digital work.

The scanner runs with ELEGOO SCAN software, which the company says streamlines the path from capture to a usable model. Guided setup, tracking assistance and multi-scan alignment are included, followed by automated one-click processing for mesh wrapping, mesh optimisation and colour mapping. Scan data can be exported in STL, OBJ, PLY and ASC formats for use in compatible third-party software.

“3D scanning opens up new possibilities for capturing and working with physical objects,” said Kevin Wang, co-founder and vice president of ELEGOO. He said the M1 Ultra is intended to combine precision, versatility and workflow efficiency in a single solution, and described the launch as an important step in expanding the company's 3D creation ecosystem and connecting the physical and digital worlds.

Consumer brands move into scanning

The M1 Ultra follows a broader pattern among desktop 3D printing companies. Creality used IFA 2026 in Berlin to show a lineup spanning multicolour printing, filament recycling, resin printing, 3D scanning, laser processing and 3D printed footwear; its Pika scanner pairs a seven-line blue laser with near-infrared scanning in a 260 g body, with accuracy to 0.03 mm and scan speeds up to 110 fps. Revopoint's Trackit SR wireless scanner offers marker-free optical tracking metrology with single-frame accuracy of 0.02 mm and three modes, including a deep-hole mode built on a single blue laser line. 3DMakerpro has emphasised ease of use with the Toucan, an all-in-one unit that lets users scan, edit and fuse models without a computer.

ELEGOO's standard retail prices are USD 1,699, EUR 1,699, GBP 1,399, CAD 2,399 and JPY 299,999. Early-bird pricing through November 12 is USD 1,599, EUR 1,599, GBP 1,319, CAD 2,299 and JPY 284,999.
